How Invisalign Works

To move your teeth and bite into proper alignment, one of our talented dentists will take custom impressions of your teeth and use those to create a custom series of clear aligners. Each one is worn for 20-22 hours a day, and for 1-2 weeks. You’ll work through the series as directed and come to our office for progress visits every 6-8 weeks. Before you know it, you’ll have a smile that makes you smile!
Who Invisalign Can Help

Good news: Invisalign can help patients with a variety of orthodontic issues, including overcrowded teeth and open bites. To find out if you’re a candidate, schedule a consultation with us so we can review your dental history and learn more about your smile goals. You can also read on!
Crowded Teeth
Unfortunately, crowded teeth do much more than detract from the appearance of your smile; they also increase your risk of developing common oral health problems, like tooth decay. In other words, Invisalign can positively impact multiple aspects of your smile!
Gaps Between Teeth
Gapped teeth can also lead to tooth decay, gum disease, and other common dental issues, which is why we recommend exploring your treatment options, even if you just have one gap between your two front teeth. The sooner you schedule an appointment, the sooner we can begin straightening your teeth.
Bite Alignment
If your upper and lower teeth aren’t in the proper positions, then it’s only a matter of time until you experience the repercussions, like chronic jaw pain and premature wear. So, if you haven’t already, schedule a consultation with us so we can determine if you’re a good candidate for Invisalign!
The Benefits of Invisalign

With Invisalign, instead of having a patient spend years with brackets and wires, they can use a progressive series of nearly invisible aligner trays. Friends and coworkers likely won’t even notice your treatment, meaning you can smile with confidence the entire time. Also, unlike regular braces, Invisalign is easily removable, meaning you can take your trays out whenever you like. This means you can maintain your regular diet and brushing habits, giving you flexibility that traditional orthodontics simply can’t offer.
How Much Does Invisalign Cost?

Are you interested in Invisalign, but want to learn more about the cost before committing? If so, we have good news: we can provide you with an estimate at your consultation! At your appointment, we will also review the financial solutions available, like dental insurance and flexible financing, to help make the price fit comfortably into your budget.
Invisalign FAQs
Can I use toothpaste to clean my Invisalign aligners?
No, you should not use toothpaste to clean your Invisalign aligners. To remove food particles, plaque, and other debris from the surface, we recommend using a damp, soft-bristle toothbrush and clear, mild dishwashing liquid. If you need to wear your current set a little longer than anticipated, then soak them in a dentist-approved cleanser for 15 minutes each day as well.
Are there any dietary restrictions with Invisalign?
There’s really only one rule when it comes to eating and drinking during your Invisalign treatment: you need to remove your aligners first. Outside of that, all we ask is that you eat mostly well-balanced meals. This is important because filling your plate with seasonal fruits, fresh vegetables, healthy fats, and the like will help keep your teeth and gums healthy throughout the teeth-straightening process.
Can you get Invisalign after braces?
If you’ve experienced orthodontic relapse in the years following your time with traditional braces, then you might be wondering if it’s possible to achieve a straight smile again with Invisalign. Oftentimes, the answer is “yes!” So, if you are interested in clear aligner treatment, don’t hesitate to schedule an appointment at our Hammonton dental office!
Will I need to wear a retainer after Invisalign treatment?
Yes! In fact, the retention phase is an important part of the overall treatment process. Without it, your teeth can drift out of alignment, wasting the time and money that you invested in Invisalign in the process. The good news is that we can have a retainer made for you that closely resembles your aligners, which ensures that unwanted attention isn’t drawn to your smile, even if you need to wear it around the clock for the first few weeks.
Does Invisalign hurt?
Not only are the clear aligners crafted from smooth plastic, but they are custom-made to fit the contours of your teeth and don’t have any metal components. As a result, Invisalign in Hammonton is quite comfortable! Plus, if there is a rough edge on one of your trays, you can bring it to our office. That way, one of our cosmetic dentists can carefully file it down.
Tip: If you experience any soreness or pressure from the movement of your teeth, sip on cool water and take OTC pain medication as directed!
How long does Invisalign take?
Usually, Invisalign takes between 12 and 18 months to achieve the desired results. Once we know more about your dental needs, including how severe your case of misalignment is, we can provide you with a more precise estimate. We will also discuss what you can do to avoid lengthy treatment plan delays, starting with wearing your aligners for a minimum of 20 hours each day.
